Welcome to Little Schoolhouse in the Woods’ Outdoor Explorer Summer Camps 2026!
NOTE: Sorry, our Outdoor Explorers Camp B is FULL
This year, we have two camps. One for ages 6 to 10, and another camp for ages 3 to 5 (toilet proficient). This is an awesome opportunity for your child to play out in the woods and make new friends. We’ll sing songs, play games and tell stories. Most of all, we’ll be outdoors and having fun!
Our summer camps are all outdoors in all weather (with the exception of unsafe weather-we have indoor space), so dress your children appropriately. There is more information about these camps and what you will need to pack at the bottom of this page. We provide a midmorning snack, but all campers should pack a lunch. We are excited to share the woods with your kids!
We welcome your questions at littleschoolhouseinthewoods@gmail.com.

We will spend our mornings in the woods with generous free time and close adult supervision. This is an excellent outdoor experience for kids! We tell stories, sing songs and play games while children have the chance to freely explore nature. The experienced teachers keep the children safe while enabling a positive outdoor, natural learning adventure. Plus, we provide a mid morning snack! Bring a sack lunch and we’ll eat outdoors while the kids get picked up.
We have limited spaces, please sign up soon! If our camps fill, we will let you know and save your information and keep you on our wait list in case someone cancels.

Additional Information
Just a couple of notes for you to consider. We will be doing lots of hiking and playing in the woods of Mt. Airy Forest, so keep that in mind when you are getting your child ready. Children will need sturdy boots or creek shoes that will be comfortable enough to hike and play in the woods and at the creek. We will send an email to you at the address you use for payment that will include all of the relevant information you’ll need. PLEASE NOTE: There will be hard copy waiver forms to sign on the first morning.
Even though we will spend a lot of time in the shade of the woods, we advise sunscreen, and a reliable bug repellent is always recommended.
Please, don’t bring personal items like toys, flip flop shoes or electronics.
Children should bring their lunches. We will provide a healthy vegetarian mid-morning snack for campers. If your child has a special diet, please be sure to provide an appropriate alternative snack for them and let us know about the dietary restriction.
Stuff for your child to bring:
SUNSCREEN
BUG REPELLENT
WATER BOTTLE
CHANGE OF CLOTHES
STURDY HIKING/CREEK SHOES
HEALTHY LUNCH
BACKPACK TO CARRY PERSONAL ITEMS, SUCH AS WATER BOTTLE, SUNSCREEN, BUG REPELLENT
Thank you for considering our Outdoor Explorer Summer Camp. Your child will love exploring nature with us!
We are unable to offer refunds if you cancel, but if, for some unforeseen reason, we have to cancel, we will offer refunds.
