Contribute Without Any Added Cost? Yes, please! (& thank you!)

If you haven’t heard of Kroger Community Rewards, please let me fill you in: If you shop at Kroger and use the Kroger Plus card or use your phone number to receive fuel points and discounts, you can select a specific organization to receive a percentage of your purchases! It doesn’t cost any more than what your are spending already, and it can benefit a good cause.

Who should I link my card to?

Personally, I think you should choose an organization that is doing good things that you feel make the world a better place. If you can’t think of one, I have a suggestion: Little Schoolhouse in the Woods. =)

Are you guys a non-profit?

Yes, we are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and, guess what? Because of the tax benefits, accounting and compliance becomes very expensive. You can help offset that cost simply by enrolling in Kroger Community Rewards and linking our organization to your Kroger Card.

Sounds complicated.

It’s not hard, and, if you wanted to link us to your card, you’d be doing us a huge favor at no added cost to you! As a matter of fact, I just realized my card wasn’t linked, and it only took me a couple of minutes to do.

I guess. But how?

We would be so grateful to anyone who wants to link us to their Kroger card. If you’d like to, here is the link to how to enroll in Kroger Community Rewards. (you will have to login first).

Thanks in advance!

I mean, but why?

Honestly, we love outdoor early education. Young children are so much fun to be around when they are discovering their natural environment. You get to see a really cool person unfolding before your very eyes!

As the children learn and grow, we get to witness that, plus, we get to participate in it, too! There is no doubt in my mind that developing a love of nature while navigating our social environment at an early age creates a healthier, happier human being. When I am part of that, I get to grow and heal and learn, too. Once you’ve experienced it, you’ll understand the world and what it means to be human a little bit better.

I can’t express my gratitude to all of you who love and support nature, early childhood, and us! Thank you!!!

Open House October 12, 2024

Our program is small, but we anticipate openings for next year. If you or a family you know has a preschool aged child and are interested in learning more about us, please RSVP to our Open House on October 12 by emailing us with your child’s age at LittleSchoolhouseintheWoods@gmail.com. We’d love to meet your family and answer any questions you have.

Little Schoolhouse in the Woods has a vision of early childhood education that is focused on the whole child: social/emotional, physical and academic. While we consider play based approaches to be the best way to learn, our informal academic approach is grounded in student led lessons. We do all of this immersed in a natural outdoor environment. Our eclectic pedagogical approach is inspired by hands on and open ended philosophies incorporating whatever works best for our current group of students.

Our two acre property neighbors Mt. Airy Forest with acres of hiking trails: we get outside and play a lot! We focus on the seasons and we experience Mother Nature in all kinds of weather. The kids have a blast and learn a lot while we do our best to gently guide them toward healthy relationships with their peers and each other.

Join us October 12, 2024 to see our space, ask questions and meet other families who are interested in outdoor early education. RSVP by emailing us with your child’s age at littleschoolhouseinthewoods@gmail.com
